Sycamore to Peñasquitos Transmission Line Project
Location: San Diego, CA
Client: SDG&E
Contract Amount: $140,000
Date Completed: 2014
EI conducted a complete jurisdictional delineation and report for SDG&E’s 16.7 mile Sycamore to Peñasquitos Transmission Line Project. These surveys evaluated all aquatic resources under the regulation of the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Coastal Commission (CCC), and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) as implemented by the San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). The Project crossed three major blue-line drainages and tributaries in San Diego. The survey area included a mixture of habitats and land uses including urbanized areas where local hydrology and drainage patterns have been significantly altered, along with undeveloped land comprised of rough foothills with steep valleys and ravines. The delineation included ephemeral, perennial, and intermittent drainages with varying habitat regimes. EI delineated multiple riparian vegetation communities including Southern Coast Live Oak Riparian Forests and San Diego Mesa Vernal Pool complexes.
