Robyn Walker has joined Environmental Intelligence to head up its new Technical Production & Editing Department. Centered out of EI’s new San Diego office in Del Mar, Ms. Walker brings over ten years of experience in both technical and journalistic expertise.
With degrees in Biology, Journalism and Environmental Management, she has the right blend of technical and practical expertise to keep EI at the forefront of best-in-class project deliverables to our valued clients. She started her career as a reporter and photojournalist, focusing on environmental issues. She then parlayed her environmental journalistic experience into an educational position where she helped students understand and participate in aquatic research workshops to better understand conservation methods for sensitive species.
Her dedication to conservation and aquatic research landed her multiple research projects throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean. From tide pool ecology education in New England, to killer whale research in Canada, to sea turtle monitoring in the Caribbean, Ms. Walker is truly an international biologist and researcher. As the Executive Director of a Non-Profit Marine Mammal Rescue and Rehabilitation organization along the Northern Coast of California, Ms. Walker was able to use her technical, journalistic and educational skills to manage a critical Marine Mammal Center.
From Non-Profit Organizations to Commercial businesses, Ms. Walker has turned her various specialized skills into a career that has had a positive effect on the environmental industry. She has been extensively published in biological and technical journals and conferences, and continues to use her skills to further educate.
Ms. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, as well as a Master of Environmental Management Degree from Duke University in Durham, NC.
