Sophia Kollias has joined Environmental Intelligence as a Senior Project Manager/Land Planner. Centered out of EI’s Laguna Beach office, Ms. Kollias comes to EI with 22 years of experience in environmental management and land planning in the private and public sectors. Her experience has included land entitlement, due diligence, permitting, public policy, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management.
As a project manager, she is highly committed to client satisfaction and the successful completion of projects. Ms. Kollias is a generalist in her field, however over the past decade she has worked on energy transmission and generating projects with major utility companies in both California and Arizona. She has acquired specialized experience in managing the environmental compliance component of energy projects, and ensuring compliance with CEQA/NEPA during all phases of planning and construction.
Two notable projects Ms. Kollias has worked on include Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP) and San Diego Gas and Electric’s (SDG&E) Sunrise Powerlink Transmission Line Project. Ms. Kollias has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Planning Degree from the University of Southern California.
