Maria is a Cultural Resources Project Manager with over twelve years of professional experience in archaeology. For the last five years, Maria has managed cultural resource compliance for large public utility and transportation projects in the City of Los Angeles and throughout the State of California. She has training in Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualifications Standards in archaeology (36 Code of Federal Regulations [CFR] Part 61). Maria has worked extensively in the field with monitoring, excavation, and surveys; has experience with the preparation of a variety of technical reports and project deliverables; conducting of heritage desktop analysis and impact assessments for cultural resources; and repatriation preparation. Her experience with all aspects of cultural resource management is a great addition to EI’s growing Cultural Resources Department.
